Pipeline Engineer

DigitalFish has an immediate need for a Pipeline Engineer with a solid grasp of Python and C++ as used in games and film production and experience building and deploying tools into complex content-production pipelines.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement Python libraries and tools enabling efficient production workflows
  • Write user documentation and design notes for the software you create
  • Take ownership of technical issues and drive them to resolution
  • Participate in daily scrums and interviews with stakeholders to ensure the successful gathering of requirements, planning, and execution for all tasks involved in delivering a pipeline that integrates with other aspects of the overall project
  • Collaborate and contribute with peers in an Agile development environment, including conducting code reviews to ensure quality and standards are maintained
  • Identify challenging aspects of integration and deployment of the pipeline in production together with members of the client studio
  • Contribute to documenting design, implementation, and usage of the pipeline
  • Educate end users on how to take advantage of new capabilities unlocked by the pipeline

Who You Are

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years experience developing computer-graphics pipeline tools; at least 2 of those years implementing character rigging tools specifically
  • Proven experience scripting Python/PyQt tools for Maya
  • Good understanding of the 3D-graphics and mathematics fundamentals supporting creature rigging: trigonometry, linear algebra, matrices, vectors and quaternions
  • Solid professional experience in team development using Python
  • Solid general programming skills, including knowledge of software patterns, build systems, and optimization
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes
  • Self-motivated with strong communications skills and able to work both in a team and independently
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

Compensation and Benefits

  • The annual salary range for this position is $115,000 to $160,000 plus equity (per qualifications). The base pay actually offered will take into account internal leveling, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors

Location

Our team is fully remote, working effectively together in real-time. We are at work between US East Coast and West Coast business hours.
