Research Scientist - Color Perception & MR/AR Experience Research

THE ROLE

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of color image processing, computer graphics, human color perception, and physical-based lighting modeling. As part of a small and dynamic team, you will work on developing imaging technology for camera capture and creating augmented reality experiences that enrich human perception.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop perceptual features for immersive MR/AR experiences by modeling human perception
  • Establish camera and display image quality metrics for MR/AR benchmarking
  • Create a platform for objective and subjective psychophysical studies to evaluate virtual object rendering in MR/AR applications
  • Prototype MR/AR demos of new technology using python, MATLAB, Blender, Unity and C#
  • Research and develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for light estimation and virtual object rendering

WHO YOU ARE

  • MS/PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, imaging science, color
  • science, biology, cognitive science or a related field
  • Proficient in programming languages such as MATLAB, python, C#, and C++
  • Strong background in user experience, machine learning, computer vision, VR & AR
  • Knowledgeable in data analysis and signal processing
  • Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of image processing, HDR imaging, image segmentation, depth estimation, human color perception, AR/VR rendering, computer vision and machine learning is desirable*
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States



COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • The hourly rate for this position is $60-80 US Dollars (per qualifications)

This a hybrid position based in the Bay Area. The ability to work on the West Coast time zone is preferred.
