Research Scientist - Color Perception & MR/AR Experience Research

THE ROLE
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of color image processing, computer graphics, human color perception, and physical-based lighting modeling. As part of a small and dynamic team, you will work on developing imaging technology for camera capture and creating augmented reality experiences that enrich human perception.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop perceptual features for immersive MR/AR experiences by modeling human perception
- Establish camera and display image quality metrics for MR/AR benchmarking
- Create a platform for objective and subjective psychophysical studies to evaluate virtual object rendering in MR/AR applications
- Prototype MR/AR demos of new technology using python, MATLAB, Blender, Unity and C#
- Research and develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for light estimation and virtual object rendering
WHO YOU ARE
- MS/PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, imaging science, color
- science, biology, cognitive science or a related field
- Proficient in programming languages such as MATLAB, python, C#, and C++
- Strong background in user experience, machine learning, computer vision, VR & AR
- Knowledgeable in data analysis and signal processing
- Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of image processing, HDR imaging, image segmentation, depth estimation, human color perception, AR/VR rendering, computer vision and machine learning is desirable*
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- The hourly rate for this position is $60-80 US Dollars (per qualifications)
- The rate actually offered will take into account internal parity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors

This a hybrid position based in the Bay Area. The ability to work on the West Coast time zone is preferred.
